



TR01: 1 Day Nam Ha jungle trek in the protected area



Good for visitors, who has short time but want to hike through the rain forest and trails in Namha NPA on narrow paths, bamboo forests and view the beautiful mountain range. Suitable for beginners and expert on trekking. Learn how the indigenous people use the resources of the jungle to survive. Tour ends at the highland village Ban Chalernsouk or Tha Sae of the Khmu people, indigenous people of the National Protected Area.
Morning:
At 9:00 am meet your tour guide at the office and take a tuk-tuk ride to the start of the hiking trail. After a brief visit to the local Lao market for supplies we arrive at the beginning of the trail at 9:00 am – the Doyluckham trail.
The team will walk through dense rainforests before crossing streams at the base of a shaded valley and then on through a mosaic of cultivated lands and primary forests. During the hike our guides will take time to identify and discuss plants and trees and how they are important to the indigenous people. We stop for a picnic lunch in the heart of the jungle, taking time to appreciate the tranquil beauty of the natural landscape.
Afternoon:
After lunch we continue the hike, as the trail courses beneath the canopies of impressive old-growth trees, eventually giving way to an oasis of cultivated land comprising rice paddies, banana trees, and fields of tall slender grasses. Soon after we reach the remote Nalan village, a timeless refuge at the heart of the jungle preserving the unique culture of the Khmu people. Back on the trail, we continue our hike through old-growth forests, immersed in the wild natural landscape as the steep trail gradually rises along the mountain. From there we steadily descend through the luscious rainforest until reaching Nam Ha village of the Khmu people. Following an invigorating tuk-tuk ride, we arrive back in Luang Namtha at the office at approximately 4.00 pm.

What to prepare on the trip:
- Good hydration is a basic safety measure; make sure that you consume at least 2-3 liters of water per day. For your first day, the tour operator will provide around 2 water bottles. Please, keep always the empty bottle so you can refill the next day
- A good pair of shoes for walking
- A hat or cap
- Sunglasses
- Mosquito repellent/Insect repellent
- Sunscreen
- Toilet paper
- Raincoat (in rainy season, June-Sep)
- Pocket money etc.
- Please wear appropriate suits during the trek

TR02: 1 Day Nam Ha Picnic on Hunter Valley



This trail is proper for visitors who have short time but want to hike through the jungle in the Nam Ha NPA to see the beautiful nature. This is also suitable for beginners and expert trekkers. You have opportunity to learn how to find food and cook in the forest.
Morning:
At 8:40 am meet your tour guide at the office and take a tuk-tuk to the morning market to buy some food for lunch. After a brief visit to the local market, continuously go to the trekking trail.
When arrive on the trail, the team will walk through the Nam Ha River with secondary forests and a shaded valley. During the trip, the certificated tour guides will explain the flora surrounding you and the wildlife footprints on the trail if you are lucky. In addition, the guide will tell you the roots of trees, plants, and leaves on how they are important to the indigenous people. Then, we stop for a picnic lunch at a lunch site and take time to enjoy learning to cook Lao food with bamboo pipes.
Afternoon:
After lunch, we trek through the primary forests to see the beautiful scenery of the jungle to see big trees on the trail. From there the tour group steadily walks downhill through the luscious rainforest until arriving at the end of the trail. After that, we will take time to visit Nam Lue village (Lanten Ethnic) to discover the authentic life of ethnic people. After that, we arrive back by Tuk-Tuk in Luang Namtha at the office at about 4.00 pm.
