



TY 01: 1 Day trek + 1 day kayak
This is one of the best seller programs of the company, you will have both experiences kayaking and trekking in the Nam Ha National Protected Area. The main interests are to discover Nam Ha River and experience Khmu homestay at Nalan village for learning Khmu ethnic culture and traditions.
Day 1: A full-day trek to Nalan village (5-6 hours)
Begin at 9:00 at the company and go to the local morning market to purchase food and water for the trek. The Tuk-Tuk will bring the tour group to the trekking trail (Chaluensouk village – 16 km away from the town center). Start trekking from here into the protected area, the first section will walk through cultivated land before getting to the untouched jungle. Then start to hike in the mountains and get to the deep jungle of the protected area. On the trip, you will walk through streams, valleys, and evergreen forests – there are opportunities to hear the songs of birds, see wildlife footprints, and traditional medicine (Herbal plants). The team will take a few hours to reach the lunch site, your tour guide will help you to prepare and cook Lao food for a picnic lunch. After lunch, continue walking until arriving at Nalan village (Khmu tribe). When arriving there, check in at a homestay and take a bath (you can either take a bath on the Nam Ha River or Bathroom in the homestay).
Day 2: Kayak from Nalan Village to Houyluead Village (6-7 Hours)
For your second day, after breakfast say goodbye to your host family, walk around the village, and visit the school before starting the trip on Nam Ha River. It is a long route from Nalan Village to the endpoint. During this route, you will challenge yourself with many rapids, your friends will cheer you to pass the rapid and rocky rivers. We will take about 1 hour to reach Lanten village and then stop for a while to visit Lanten ethnic about 30 munites, you will have opportunities to learn about their culture and living conditions in the remote area. Thereafter, continuously kayak to Houyluead Village. When arriving there, Tuk Tuk is waiting at the Village to pick you up.
What to prepare on the trip:
- Good hydration is a basic safety measure; make sure that you consume at least 2-3 liters of water per day. For your first day, the tour operator will provide around 2 water bottles. Please, keep always the empty bottle so you can refill it the next day
- A good pair of shoes for walking and paddling
- A hat or cap
- Sunglasses
- Mosquito repellent/Insect repellent
- Sunscreen
- Toilet paper
- Raincoat (in the rainy season, June-Sep)
- Pocket money etc.
- Please wear appropriate suits during the trek
