The highlights are experiencing the Nam Ha River, trekking in the Nam Ha NPA, camping in the jungle, and visiting homestays in remote villages.
Day 1: Hiking to the campsite
Begin at 9:00 AM to the morning market to purchase food and drink for your meal. Then we will take Tuk Tuk for 45 minutes to the trekking trail at Nam Ha village. When arriving there, start walking steeply through the cultivated area before getting to the national park. During the trail in the Nam Ha NPA, you will see abundant nature surrounding you; from this, your tour guide will explain some traditional medicines (natural herbal) to you. When walk for a while on a top mountain, we will stop for lunch, the local tour guide will help you cook Lao food for a picnic lunch. After lunch, continuously walk for about 3-4 hours to the campsite where near the Nam Ha river bank. When arriving at the camp, your tour guide will help you to prepare food for cooking dinner. Then, we will have time to have dinner together around the fireplace and test Lao whisky while listening sounds of insects and many songs of birds.
Day 2: Trek to Nalan Village
After breakfast, the team will start trekking at 9:00 AM, this trail you will walk through evergreen forests and rainforests before reaching Nalan village. The team will walk uphill to the lunch site, and then stop for lunch. After finishing a wonderful lunch, we continue to walk downhill on the valley to the authentic homestay at Nalan Village. When arriving there, all will check in at the homestays and relax. Then, your guide will help you to cook your dinner with the host family where you stay. From this, you have opportunities to learn how to cook Khmu food and learn their culture. Hence, everyone has dinner together with the host family. Thereafter, If the group is 4 people up, we will see the show of traditional music and dance from the performer teams of the village. After that, go to bed by 9:00-9:30 PM
Day 3: Paddling on Nam Ha River
For your third day, after breakfast say goodbye to your host family, walk around the village, and visit the school before starting the trip on Nam Ha River. It is a long route from Nalan Village to the stopping point. During this route, you will challenge yourself with many rapids, and your friends will cheer you to pass the rapid section. We will take about 1 hour to reach Lanten village and then stop for a while to visit Lanten ethnic, you will have opportunities to learn about their culture and living conditions in the remote area. Thereafter, continuously kayak to Houyluead Village.
When arriving there, Tuk Tuk is waiting at the Village to pick you up.
What to prepare on the trip:
- Good hydration is a basic safety measure; make sure that you consume at least 2-3 liters of water per day. For your first day, the tour operator will provide around 2 water bottles. Please, keep always the empty bottle so you can refill it the next day
- A good pair of shoes for walking and paddling
- A hat or cap
- Sunglasses
- Mosquito repellent/Insect repellent
- Sunscreen
- Toilet paper
- Raincoat (in the rainy season, June-Sep)
- Pocket money etc.
- Please wear appropriate suits during the trek

- Snacks, fruit, your bottle of water
- Your own medicine if you need it.
Important Do’s & Don’ts:
- Do not give individual gifts or money to children.
- Ask before taking photos of people or spiritual items.
- Help keep the trails clean by not littering.
- Purchasing handicrafts is highly appreciated but do not purchase antiques.
- Do not remove any archeological remains from the site of the ancient temples.
- Always stay with the guides
- Do not use drugs.
